Does your company or team always have a Friday afternoon event in the office? Maybe you have a tavern, or you bring in entertainment from outside like Karaoke or even a painting class. If this is the case, you should be aware that you can add room-scaled VR to the list of things you can bring in to do next. Plus, VR makes a great team building activity that everyone can participate in no matter where you are.
Although VRPlayin offers 18 Virtual Reality stations and ample space to socialize, we understand that it’s not always convenient to bring your team to us. That’s why, wherever you are, we at VRPlayin will bring our VR stations to you!
Now that you know you can enjoy the experiences we offer at our physical location in your office, you may be wondering what the virtual reality station setup is like, what’s required to set up something in your office or event space, and what experiences are available for mobile stations.
Well stop worrying, because we’re going to tackle these questions in this blog and of course, if you ever want to know more, you can always get a hold of us for more information.
The Mobile Station
A mobile station involves the following components:
A: 2 lighthouse sensors on tripods for tracking the movements of the headset and controllers
B: Controllers
C: The Head Mount Display
D: Cables connecting the HMD and the Computer
E: High-end Computer
F: 8×8’ play area
G: Monitor
A specialized customer care representative will arrive on site and neatly set everything up, either in 30 minutes or an hour prior to your event, depending on the number of stations requested. Not only will the setup will be very clean with proper cable management and optimal display viewing angles, hygiene products like Lysol and disposable facemasks will be provided.
Once the station is set up and tested, you will be able to move freely and interact with the virtual world inside the 8×8’ space.
The Requirements
In order to have an optimized VR experience, a few conditions must be met:
- An open space, away from high traffic, without any objects in the play area like pillars or furnitures
- At least 8’ tall ceiling
- No reflective glass windows or partitions (these can be addressed with blinds or curtains)
- 1 dedicated power outlet for each station
- 1 table for each station to put monitors for displaying gameplay
- Untethered and stable Internet if multiplayer experiences are preferred
If you are not really sure, our friendly VRPlayin CSR will be more than happy to guide you to quickly inspect or examine a space.
The Experiences
Is the mobile experience any different than what’s offered at VRPlayin? The short answer is no but it’s quite possible the mobile experience will be even better as each station is equipped with a dedicated customer service rep to provide you with safety instructions and tips for each VR experience, allowing for optimal enjoyment.
With respect to the VR experiences, you will be able to enjoy the same catalog we offer in the store. The only difference is that the multiplayer experience will be limited by the number of mobile stations rented (and usually due to the limitation of space, it’s uncommon to have more than 4 stations rented for offices). Also, multiplayer experiences require untethered and stable internet access and many corporations with strict internet access rules often have limitations that do not allow VR stations to connect to each other. Unfortunately in this scenario, only single player mode can be provided. Other that that, everything you can enjoy in our store is applicable to the mobile stations.
