One of the things I’ve noticed from working in Virtual Reality is the number of people that are surprised at how much they work up a sweat in certain VR experiences. It’s quite funny actually. You come in thinking “It’s just like playing some video games at an arcade, right?”, and leave a couple hours later feeling like you just hit the gym.
If you’re the kind of person that likes mixing exercise with fun, I’m here to list the best 3 VR experiences that are bound to get your heart pumping.
Beat Saber
The newest and coolest addition to our catalog, and one that everyone in the VR world is talking about since it’s release back in May 2018. I like to call this one “Dance Dance Revolution in VR with Lightsabers”.
Beat Saber seems like a simple concept, but can go from 1 to 100 very quickly depending on the song and difficulty level. With 10 original songs specifically produced for the game, there is plenty of options for what beat you want to slash to.
Let me explain. You have a sword in each hand – one blue and one red. Blocks come toward you in time with the beat of the music, and you must slice the blocks with the correct colour and in the direction that the arrow on them is facing. It’s a beautiful test of hand-eye coordination, all while listening to some assume tunes and working out your arm muscles. As difficulties progress, they also throw obstacles at you like walls you must dodge away from with a seconds notice, so don’t think your legs are safe from pouncing around.
If you want a great mix of fun, music and a cardio workout in VR, Beat Saber is your new best friend.
Thrill of the Fight
Just because this isn’t technically real boxing, doesn’t make it any less of a workout. Plus, with VR being as immersive as it is, you’ll really feel like you’re in the ring (minus actually getting punched in the face) thanks to Thrill of the Fight.
You start off with a sparring opponent and think you’ve got it down pat, but then comes the real opponents who are absolutely relentless. Just when you think you’ve got them knocked down, they rise back up, forcing you to punch, dodge and block your way to a win. If you don’t K.O. them 3 times before the timer runs out, it feels like an eternity until the match ends, which is great if you are looking for a sweat inducing, calorie burning experience.
If you want an intense core workout without having to face a real boxing gym, I highly suggest this one to hone your boxing skills.
Sprint Vector
Sprint Vector is one of those games that combines the movements of skating, blading and skiing all in one. Race through crazy courses full of obstacles and run, jump, climb, drift and fly to first place. It’s seriously a Virtual Reality extreme sport that will boost your adrenaline and work out your arms like no other.
Plus, with this option being multiplayer, you can challenge up to 8 friends at a time to see who crosses the finish line first. Nothing like some good old friendly competition to motivate you to flail your arms the fastest.
Well, there you have it. If you’re too lazy to hit the gym because you’re tempted to play some games instead, these VR experiences are the person solution. Come check them out with friends at VRPlayin and take advantage of our group packages listed below!
