If you haven’t yet read our post on what goes into making a remarkable team building activity, you should take a look to get a better sense of how VRPlayin can make your event a success.
Content:
Of course, everyone wants to have fun, but that doesn’t mean that fun can’t also be meaningful. Similar to children playing a city planning simulator, for instance, there are “games” that grown-ups can play that offer something more than just an escape from the real world. Whether they’re used as bonding exercises or for developing certain skills, we have the perfect multiplayer games selection for your team building, group or corporate event needs.
From 2-4 player co-op and 5v5 competitive play to 10 player battle royal, with multiple options to chose from and different worlds and the mechanics behind them each offering, every game on our list, which can be found here, comes with their own set of challenges and rewards.
VRPlayin is the only place in Toronto that offers a 10 player multiplayer game and because many of our experiences rely heavily on team collaboration and communication, a comprehensive team building activity is something we are proud to offer for your next corporate event or group booking.
Future blog posts will include an ongoing series describing the benefits of each of our team based experiences but for now here is a summary of some of the best and most popular titles:
- Arizona Sunshine – With its 2 player story mode, it is excellent for building deep bonds as it takes hours to complete, but it also has a 4 player survival mode in 3 distinct environments, all with their own challenges for a team. Communication and Resource Management, both as an individual and as a team, are paramount to surviving the waves of the ravenous dead. Although this experience has a higher learning curve, teams perform better with each attempt at it.
- Smashbox Arena – A simple Dodge-Ball inspired game, Smashbox is built around 3v3 competitive play with short, fast-paced rounds. It is excellent for first-time users and blends cooperation and competition well. The teams are selected by players at the start of each game and players “taken out” have a bird’s eye view that allows them to communicate the location of their opponents to their team.
- Run of Mydan – A personal favourite due to its art style and game mechanics, it is the only title where you get to fly around, and the multiplayer environments are more vertical than horizontal. This title is excellent for competitive play in its 10 player battle royale scenario, but where it truly shines is Domination, where 2 teams of 5 players fight for control over 4 points scattered across the map. As no team is capable of holding all 4 points indefinitely, choosing targets and being flexible are important aspects of this experience, where victory is achieved by the team with the better communication.
- Rec Room – Saving the best for last, Rec Room is in a world of its own. The Wii Sports of VR, this title has everything from Paintball, Dodgeball, and Charades, to the recently introduced Laser Tag. But “sports” are not where Rec Room truly shines. It shines through an extremely punishing and equally rewarding Quest activity. As of now there are 3 quests to choose from, all with a different theme. As competitive play in Rec Room is 4v4, 3v3 or 1v1, the quests are 4 player co-op, where players progress through a series of levels in the hopes of achieving victory. No other experience in our catalog is as reliant on communication and collaboration as the quests in Rec Room. A testament to teamwork refined, Rec Room Quests are special because unlike Arizona Sunshine, they contain a clear victory against overwhelming odds.
All this talk about moving around and no mention of safety, that’s because there is not much need for it. Once you finish watching our quick safety video you’ll be good to go! If Arizona zombies have you jumping or virtual paintballs have you scrambling for cover our padded wall will ensure that even if you bump into something you’ll just bounce back in the action.
Catering:
You just spent hours at work and want a quick bite to eat? We got you!
With three catering options to choose from, from snacks to gourmet buffets, just let us know your needs and we will make it happen. And while we offer a diverse selection of local and imported beers, we can also provide tailored drink packages to better suit the event you want to host. Choose whatever you want and everything will be ready for you on arrival.
Depending on the size of your group we can also set up our party room, or for larger groups we can provide additional space for a buffet so food and refreshments can be taken to the tables at each station. This allows for people to eat as they still enjoy the company of their teammates or colleagues still in virtual reality.
Social:
Contrary to what you may think, VR can be a very social experience, where you can interact with technology as well as your colleagues.
With this in mind, we have built a social environment into the layout of our space. Whether we’re talking about a small gathering where everyone is in the virtual world together, or a party larger than the number of headsets we can accommodate at once – with ample seating, refreshment options and the ability to be involved in the action, whether you’re living it through a multplayer game or simply just observing, we offer a way into VR for everyone.
Customer Service:
Just as we’re passionate about technology, we’re passionate about our customers. Exceptional service is important to us and it’s an essential part of our quest to bring the best in VR to you.
That means we have in-depth knowledge of all our content and can quickly coordinate a group of newbies into proficient zombie hunters or questing adventurers, but our staff is happy to help in other ways, whether that’s how best to play a game or help you choose the right VR system if you want to get one in your house.
Lastly, as part of our customer service, our staff takes extra care to ensure that your station has been thoroughly sanitized prior to use. If your headset does not smell like fresh cut lemons let us know!
For us, VRPlayin is not just another job or just another VR arcade – it’s another opportunity to share with the world the wonders of virtual reality.
